Subscriptions
How do subscriptions work?
You subscribe. We send you books on your chosen schedule (monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly). You read them. You keep the ones you love. Repeat.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No commitment, no minimum term, no hassle. Just go to your account and click "cancel subscription."
Can I pause my subscription?
Absolutely. Pause anytime in your account. Resume when you're ready.
Can I change my reading mood?
Yes! Update it in your account settings. Your next box will reflect the change.
When will my first box arrive?
Your first box will arrive halfway through the month in which you order it. If closer to the next month, it will arrive midway through then.
When am I charged?
At the start of each billing cycle. You'll get a reminder email a few days before each charge.
Books & Curation
What condition are the books in?
Good or Excellent condition, always. Clearly read but no tears, water damage, or heavy marking. Spine creases are fine - they show a book's been loved.
Are books always secondhand?
Yes. That's the entire point. Sustainability, circular economy, supporting charity shops and people.
What if I already own or have read a book you send?
Email me within 48 hours with a photo. I'll swap it for something else. No return shipping needed on your end.
Can I return books I've finished?
Yes! Send back any books you don't want to keep, and you'll get 15% toward your next box. It's our way of keeping books in circulation and rewarding you for being part of the community. Just pop them in the post - details in your account.
Can I request specific books?
Not specific titles, but you can absolutely say: "I loved X, more like that please!" or "Never send me Y."
What genres do you cover?
Crime & Thriller, Literary & Contemporary Fiction, Historical Fiction, Romantasy & Fantasy, and YA Crossover.
Do you send books from series?
Only Book 1 or if it reads well standalone. Never mid-series books - that's just frustrating.
How do you choose books for me? I
look at your reading mood, genre preferences, books I've sent you before, what's available, and Goodreads ratings (3.2+ minimum). Then I match all that with what I'd genuinely recommend to a friend, using a mix of reader reviews, community insights, and AI assistance.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
UK only. Everywhere in the UK - England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.
How much is shipping?
Free! All subscriptions include free UK shipping.
Can I track my package?
You'll get shipping confirmation with tracking when your box is posted.
What if my box doesn't arrive?
Email me. After 10 business days, I'll investigate and either track it down or send a replacement.
Payments & Account
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Shop Pay, and PayPal.
Can I get a refund?
Within 14 days of your first box arriving, yes (UK consumer rights). After that, no refunds, but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We're GDPR compliant. Your data is encrypted, stored securely, and only used for your subscription.
